Nice gun bro, 10 mm long slide is about as sweet a pistol as u can get.

The angle I took the picture at does make the barrel look long, but this is actually Commander length - 4.25 inches. The shorter barrel, bobbed grip, and smooth rounded edges make it a great pistol for concealed carry.

yea, i like the meltdown treatment of the edges... those early cdps like maineguy said has that smooth edges too, i love that...

I have a couple of XDs and just sold a Glock 29 SF last night. I find the 1911's easier to conceal and more comfortable to carry, so that is what you will usually find in my holster. Just personal preference....

never heard of your particular manufacturer. got any links for me to do some reading? very intrigued. thats a sweet looking weapon. the machine work is so plain jane it makes it more gorgeous.

for the money.....a dan wesson 1911 is one of the very best bargains out there. it is very underated like gunny said and are amazingly accurate out of the box. it is imho the best value 1911 around. the specs on it are as close to perfect as you can expect out of a production weapon

its just bc of my smart carry holster... im in south florida and its hot as fuck rite now, im usually in cargo shorts and tank tops so side holster or in my waistband in the back is a nogo... the smart carry will conceal my weapon, but w 1911s, the dovetail and hammer will dig into ur stomach when u sit down... i like to carry the kimber in my side holster with a bigger shirt...

The hi-power is a work of art without a doubt. Browning's designs are a century or so old and still in use. The 1911, the hi-power, the M2, all still workhorses in the 21st century. The man was an amazing engineer.

Not to mention all the guns based on the design. Like the Sig P938 (which is tons of fun, btw :beer:

I know what you mean about your XFrame S&W. I have a 460V and it rides in a Diamond D chest holster or in a humongous fanny pack made for fishing gear. Which model Kimber is that ?
