Impressive.
Makes me sad to think I never pulled more than 605 as a 242 :(
Some people are built to dead and some aren't I guess

You may be right. I was pulling 500 @ 175lbs for reps, but I cant squat more than 315 for 1RM.

It just feels like I have more focus with deads

Yeah I'm the opposite. 600 Dead 750 Squat maybe higher if I was competing now with all the new suits.

I don't pay much attention to aided powerlifting and much prefer strongman types of event since they only tend to use a belt but this kid is definitely ahead of his time either way.

you are mistaken that strongmen use "only a belt" they use belts, straps, suits(under their t-shirt), super-sticky tacky - and hitch/ramp up their oiled legs to their hearts content.
alot of smoke and mirrors in strongman. It is very technical and a great sport-but certainly isn't devoid of the use of technology. Not hating on Strong man, I am an equipped powerlifter and do strongman training for fun, but my pathetic grip strength would really hamper me.

This is from the GNC Pro Deadlift at the Arnold. Not my video. This kid is 19 years old!!!

2012 Arnold Pro GNC Deadlift Competition_Ian Bell's 3rd attempt [email protected] - YouTube
Strong kid

Ian's squat isn't too bad either! Here's a video of him squatting 727 lbs last year.

Ian Bell 727 Squat at 2011 NAPF - YouTube
Love how he starts to go forward and then just pulls his shoulders back to keep it from dropping him forward, he is really strong to do this with that weight and he sunk it deep.

I met Ian, and his dad ( Gene Bell) at the RUM 2012 this last january in CC,Tx. He and his dad are really nice, and easy to talk to. Also met Johnnie Jackson that day.
It was an awesome meet to lift in.
