2 weeks to iraq..

a couple weeks ago i found out my cousin is going to iraq. he is in his 40's has a family and has been in the navy and now the national guard. military is in his blood. he helped me a lot when i began training. he was a former special opps and really knew his way around the wt room. one of the things he told me is to read the women bber articles. he said just because they are women doesnt mean you cant learn things from them. now his wife and 2 children one 12 and the other 8 will be without him for 6 months. or thats what they are telling him. well its been getting to me. i have thanked other troops here openly for doing what they do. and now its his time to go.
please god watch over him. bring himback to us safe....missy,kelsy and ashley need him.

Lucian, I feel your pain, your cousins pain and along with his family. I'm retired USAF 21 yrs and I served 3 tours, the worst was the gulf war, my 1st time away from my wife and 2yr old daughter. Just remember your cousin sound like a very smart man, he will be safe as long as he thinks safe and keeps god and his family in his heart. I'm very proud of your cousin along with our other military members. I will keep him in my heart as well that I will pray for him and his family.

Your cousin is an expert Lucian, he knows what hes doing and he'll be looked after by his comrades. I served 3 tours of Persian Gulf and its hard to imagine how it affects family and friends cos you're over there away from what they see and hear and read. Your cousin and all the other guys from all nationalities have my full respect for what they go through every day.

I will keep your cousin in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep my brother in yours as well! He is leaving for Iraq around April 2. His first child will be born while he is overseas, and I pray that he comes home quickly, and safely!

not sure what he does now and not too sure of what he did in navy special opps. he doesnt like to talk about it. when he and my cousin first married, he was new to tha family. i was playing football in high school. he played at a big texas collage, and offered to train me. we would be running in the woods, he would throw footballs at me so i would learn to get hit and keep going and conditioned the hell out of me in the hot summer months. helped me with my wt training....so he kinda had a hand in molding me from mid teen years. when he got out of the navy.....he was never the same. i lost my brother 7 years ago on july 1st. now im looking at it and saying......what if??? i mean he has a family......kids......a wife......im not sure i could go through that whole thing again without cracking up. immnot being negative but im trying to prepare myself for the worst so IF it happens....im ready. its kinda how i protect myself.

My best friend is there now (2nd time). He's a civilian contractor that works on Scott Airforce Base. He's volunteered to go to Iraq twice now.

Look at the positive, Iraq isn't nearly as bloody as it was 1 year ago.

Have faith, he'll be okay.
