I just read a study that said subjects performed sets with intensities ranging from 130% to 230% of their 1RM. Am I missing something? I can attach the study if needed

Shit, I doubt even a single negative would be possible at 230%. Think about it, if you bench 400 and try doing a negative with over 800lbs... not happening.
Or squat 550, doing a negative for over 1000.
 
I read it again and they were in fact talking about the negative portion of the movements, so my first question is answered. Now I'm with JM, wondering how the fuck they were handling all that weight! I will post the study for you guys. It is long but is quite comprehensive. It actually goes well with phils thread about the secret to growth.
