2nd Day After Gyno Surgery

I had Gyno Surgery on Wednesday and l woke up Thursday with no obvious bruising or swelling so I thought that my recovery was going to be a piece of cake. Yesterday afternoon both sides swelled up and bruised out of nowhere. Now I look like I had breast implants. The bruising has spread outside the bandages and spread to my lats. I am being aggressive with the ice and resting in bed but thought that a delayed reaction was strange. I am waiting for the surgeon to call back.

don't worry, thats normal part of recovery. Not much you can do but rest and don't try to work out to soon.

Doc did not bother calling me back personally but the nurse called back and said it was normal to have a delayed reaction I guess I got a little excited about recovering so well. The Doc did tell me that he had to dig a little more than he anticipated

I am very lean and I did not think my Gyno was that bad the masses that were removed were alot larger than I thought that they would be He did some lipo as well which can cause severe bruising.

I have no pain just massive swelling I chose not to take the pain med but now I am taking Motrin for the swelling

Hope you bounce back fast. That didn't happen to me at all. I stayed out of the gym for 2 weeks then did a week of light lifting (no chest) then a week of normal lifting (light chest) so at the 5 week I was lifting like normal.

Not sure yet insurance will cover 80% I dont know what my balance will be The Doc made it a medical must due to my constant pain and Horizon BCBS gave authorization

surgery pic. 4 days after surgery this was when the bruising really started. It has been 4 weeks and the swelling is gone and my right side still has a marble size lump. Scars are almost unnoticeable. My insurance was billed a total of $5200. My ribs are still bruised and sore.

July 08' Gyno not very noticeable, but it hurt so I got it removed
