Guys,

I'd really like any feedback from the other members that are on TRT/HRT.

I am 29 years old. Been on doc. prescribed HRT for 5 years. Before I ever touched AAS, I had very low test levels. Might have been from legal supplements that I used back when I played football in college. Anyways, I take 100mg cyp every 6th day. I do cycle every so often.

I understand I am on HRT for life. My blood panals always come back well within range. My only concern in conceiving a child later in life.

My 1st endo had me take 25mg clomid EOD and 250ius HCG twice a week every other month.
My new endo advised me to come off completely, use 50/100mg clomid for 10 days starting a week after my last inject followed by 10 days of 500ius HCG. He advised me to do this about every 12-16 weeks.

Do either of these make sense?

To me, we cannot say what would work because we dont know if you have primary or secondary hypogonadism. What are you LH and FSH levels? I think its FSH that causes the development of sperm. If your FSH levels arent too bad, then you may be able to conceive while using. I fathered both of my kids while on heavy cycles. Many men experience this.

I didnt have any problems though with natural test levels before I started doing steroids, and so my natural levels were fine. It may be different, and probably is, for you because you had a problem before ever touching the gear.

I am now on HRT, taking 120 mg/wk. Already have 2 kids and im 40 yrs old so i am not looking to have more. Actually the biggest thing keeping me from wanting to have more is my bad heart I have now after the heart attack. I dont want to bring a child into the world and then die before they even get to know me.

I'm suspicious of any doc telling any HRT patient to come off on a regular basis. This is havoc to a person's hormones. From my understanding (yes I'm on HRT too) keep the HCG all the time. The doses that one doc said are good, 2 250iu injections a week. When the time comes to try to have a kid, I would add in the clomid at 50mg/day. That should do it.

Have you used HCG for all five years of your HRT? That is the important question.

Don't go off of test. If when using HCG on a regular basis and when the time comes adding in clomid doesn't work after several months to a year then maybe think about coming off the test. But that's always a last resort in my opinion.

Yes, I have used HCG in small doses for basically the entire time. It's always been around 200-300ius twice a week as long as I remember to do it.

I am going to stick with my normal protocol and add the clomid and or HMG when that time comes. I agree with everything you said.

Thank you for the reply..

Not a problem. I'm interested in this topic myself because I'm on HRT and would like to have a kid someday.

a bit off the topic, but maybe it will ease your mind a bit about having a child

a good friend of mine, who is curently 29, has a benign (non cancerous) tumor on his anterior pituitary gland. for whatever reason its existence causes his anterior pituitary gland NOT to send the signal to his nuts to make testosterone. he is on HRT for life, has been ever since a teenager. just over 2 years ago he got his girlfriend pregnant and they had a very healthy baby boy. he took nothing other than his doctor prescribed cypionate. now he has used AAS before and was still able to have fertile sperm on just HRT.

hope this gives you a bit of hope bro, good luck

try having the kiddo first, if nothing works, nothing the magical triad of clomid/hmg/hcg cant fix if you give it some time to work

I had my two kids when I was on cycle too. I'm looking to possibly have one more but it hasn't been easy to get my new girl pregnant @ 45 and shes 43. I might have to look into the serms protocol you guys mentioned.

TRT for me as well... but you started it at 25? damn bro? you know why?

Sounds like you have some decisions to make. Are you willing to stop HRT and crash for a few months in order to have a child? By administering the HCG twice a week, it keeps your boys afloat and swimming while you are on the Testosterone. I am a little surprised that the doc told you to begin Clomid one week after your last shot of Cypionate. I would wait two weeks until your production bottoms out before beginning Clomid. Have you considered going to a sperm bank? Thats what a friend of mine did at age 21 because he knew he was going to be a lifelong juicer. They store your sperm frozen until you are ready to conceive. HCG helps restore and maintain Testosterone production by mimicking LH (As I think Maldorf said). HCG doesnt have a great impact on FSH and FSH is a primary component to sperm production and motility. HMG, which you mentioned, has a great track record of elevating and improving FSH levels, thus improving/increasing sperm production and quality. HMG can be expensive, but you can get away with taking 25units/2x's per week sq along with 500units of HCG/2x's per week and 100mg/day of Clomid 2 weeks post final injection. Your sperm quality and count will improve after 60 days. Keep in mind this protocol is only recommended if you temporarily discontinue the HRT. If you continue the Testosterone injections than I would ditch the Clomid. This is not medical advice but I hope it helps a little.

Yup 25. I had symptoms much earlier though. I played college football and during those years and throughout highschool I took all that GNC garbage. All the "prohormones" and junk that they had on their shelves. I believe because of years of these prohormones, my body couldnt recover.

I had low testosterone symptoms since around 22-23. By 25 enough was enough and I went to an aggressive endo. I wouldnt change it for anything.

It does help, thank you.

I am going to continue the HCG and TRT. When the time comes to conceive, I will add the HMG and clomid. If neither of those work than I will drop the testosterone and try again.

Thanks to everyone for the responses.
