A STINKY PROBLEM!

i work out at a gym that is 50,000 sq feet divided between two floors.. there is a guy at the gym on a nightly basis that smells so bad that the entire floor he is on stinks and stinks is an understatement..i cant describe how rancid it is... to the point where plan my workout around which floor he is on. im not the only one who thinks it is offensive everybody around is going what is that smell...so i said something to the staff at the gym and their answer was that there isnt much they could do but they would try to figure something out. obviously nothing has changed so what is the next move i pay a lot for the gym shouldnt have to deal with that???

that kinda sucks man, a gym I used to workout at years ago had this guy that used to put a LOT of Ben-gay on before he came in and man the whole place stunk when he started working out. so a bunch of us went to management and complained, a few days later he came in with NO ben-gay on , so they must have told him to stop. You can either do that or tell him yourself( which I was gonna do if management didn't) Good Luck and remember there is strength in numbers.

if eniugh members go to managment and complain of the same problem with the same person and threaten to cancel they will have to do somthing. or give him a welcome bascket of soap deoderant and some mens fragrance items.

If you continue to complain to upper managers, they should talk to him...shoot, he should be able to smell himself if it's that strong...tell one of the chicks to subsribe a dose of deoderant lol

Agreed. Just tell them that a lot of members talked about it and said they will go elsewhere if he doesn't learn a bit about hygiene. If they think 1 smelly member will make them lose 5 members then they will act...simple business methods

talk with managment about it. im sure your not the only one its pissing off.
i mean common man every time! thers not excuse for that. soem one has to let the guy know.
iv kicked/escorted people out of club JUST beacuse they smelled SOOO bad it was bugging customers.

tell them to let him knwo thers been a BUNCH of complaints about exsesive B.O. over the weeks and that he eather has to ware deoderant or go elswhere.

First line of action should be to complain to managers. Give them a couple of days and if it continues then ask them what they are doing about the problem. if it continues then you can say somewthing to the person directly. be tactful as it is a problem that some just do not realize is that bad until someone points it out to them. If they guy turns into an asshole about it then you can give him a good scrub down with a stiff bristled brush and some powdered ajax. after the first few layers of skin are gone it will burn like hell. he should understand then. its pretty silly that this is even an issue but when im there id rather be concentrating on my workout and not what it smells like.. thanks will keep u guys posted!

We used to have one of those guys in my gym few years back. You almost could smell the guy coming before he got in the room. The smell was like rancid pepperoni from hell. When something was said to him, he just blamed it on his "diet". Obviously, it wasn't the first time something was said to him. Some people are just slobs and stupid and beyond rehabilitation. I like OF's scrub him down with Ajax idea.

im pretty sure it's in his membership contract that he signed that he must have laundered clothes, proper gym attire, as well as proper hygene to use the equipment. I would dig out or request a copy of the paperwork for members and have the manager impose the rules. If its not in the contract, perhaps another conversation with the manager would get it implemented. They even have signs up at LVAC here about that.

Diet!

I had a Workout Partner actually two that Tried a Off No Carb, tons of Redmeat diet. They were clean guys and had money to definately buy soap, I started smelling something like a hotdog Burp for a few days around 2months of their Adtkins(or something like it) Diet, it was Rank like a dead racoon. He went to the DR. and he said his Body was in a Katosis state. I don't know what that was but the next day he was off the Diet and our other buddy was to. Plus this kinda of diet is not good for Power lifters which I know now to be True.
