I am currently training DC style and only training abs 3 days a week as well. I am starting to notice my lower back strength surpassing my lower ab strength. Should I train my abs more or take a more DC style approach to my abs?

Current regimen
M/W/F - Rope Crunches 3 x 15
Hanging Leg Raise 3 x Max
Weighted Obliques 3 x 15
Superset Reverse Crunch & Decline Sit up 4 x 20

I think that's a ridiculous amount of abs.

and where in any DC training does it say to train abs 3x a week? Don't follow a DC training method and then try to tweak it. That's my biggest advice. Every1 that tries it usually tries to tweak things and then wonder why their not getting results. If you stick to Dante's ACTUAL plan 100% you'll see good results.

I think Dante says to do abs once a week does he not?

I didn't remember seeing anything about abs thats why I asked. As far as the lifts I didn't try any of my own thing 5 lifts rp on safe exercises and straight sets on others, but I will definitely try once per week on the abs.

IM going to cut and paste because I am lazy ok...LOL

You can train your abs 7 times a week 2x a day if you want on DC training.....i just let people do what they want to do for abs in the offseason.....theres no real rules....I tell people train them when they want.

I usually like a leg raise exercise straight setted for 15-20 reps or rest paused for 30 reps on one day and a nautilus nitro or some form of incline situp on the other day with the same scheme.

So here is the rule...

Individual recognition:

if you have dieted down before and your abs are lacking...better train abs hard and progressively year round.

If you dieted down and they were pretty outstanding no matter what you did....well you probably can get away with whatever youve been doing then
.

I apologize then for saying "Dante said" about the abs. I thought it was just one a week. Where there it is from Dante himself LV. Haha.

and yeah man, I only do abs once a week sometimes, I just hit like 3 hard sets of wheel rolls or something. No crunching movements.

Thank you sir for your advice, and I will go to it 4-5 days a week to compensate for my lower back.
