Meal timing and frequency. How important truly is it?

So what does the body with it? Somehow the energy just vanishes? You need a study to prove physics?

Energy cannot vanish.

Have you ever tested feces for energy content based on how many meals you have? Perhaps caloric content of your feces is 4x on 2 meals a day vs 1.5x on 5-6 meals a day? Where is Biolayne when I need him..........

I know for a fact that having multiple meals is WAY easier on my digestion (less gas, better stools etc). No science shit from me on this, but this would suggest my body is more efficient in digestion and hence likely absorbs more of the foods I ingest.

However your body absorbs and utilizes every calorie you consume. If it doesn't because you're unhealthy or are consuming something like olestra or eating sugar free gummy bears (these have the greatest reviews ever written) then you're going to have severe diarrhea.

layne norton would tell you that the amount of meals doesn't matter but total caloric intake does as far as weight loss or gain.

Your study is that you’re alive. The ability for the body to store energy (calories) is why hunter gatherers didn’t starve to death.

There is actually a partial bioaccessibility issue with nuts. Nuts produce a significantly larger particle size post-mastication compared with oils and other fat sources. I simply do not see how that is possible but I am far from a biology expert....just my personal view on what happens to my guts, and the obvious differences in flatulence/stool movements, when eating large meals compared to smaller.

Nope never changed my position. Those things not being able to be digested and utilized has nothing to do with meal timing or amounts.
They will never be properly absorbed and utilized.

Larger meals take longer to digest.

As for the article you posted it absolutely makes sense.
We cannot ever completely control or know our exact energy output.
It doesn't really matter all that much. What we can control is what we put in everything else is monitoring and averages

how about you guys eat and just train hard?
i bet there are 27 factors in your life that influence your bodybuilding results way more than "should i eat 3 meals or 5 meals a day if calories are equal)
at the end of the day, we all (or most of us, superhumans like @luki7788 or @bbxtreme only eat for purpose :D) enjoy eating and if i am left immensly hungry after eating each of my 8 350kcal meals i rather eat less meals and feel satisfied. (my body produces less cortisol if its happy so thats a win xD)

from personal experience:
if it matters for muscle building / fat loss, it is less than 2%. I did everything from eating every 2,5 hours to eating only from 7pm to 10pm and the outcome was always similar.
If i would ever eat 1-2 meals in future again the only thing i would change is less fibre. I ate 1,5kg of veggies in that time and i am sure this is one of the reasons why my abdomen stretched out which i am now fighting with regular vacuums. Often felt like a pregnant woman after the eating window
