Accidently injected some rubber from my stopper

So tonight I'm drawing up my gear and didn't notice until it was too late that some rubber from my stopper was in the gear and I injected it. I'm hoping this won't cause an infection. Anyone else ever have this happen and was all well ?

what size pin are you using? How in the world did the rubber break off in pieces in the oil?

If you actually injected rubber deep into the muscle, I can't imagine it breaking down anytime soon. I'd get yourself checked out if you really feel it was injected. My guess for it to flow though a needle into the syringe (and not get stuck), then flow back through the needle (not getting stuck again) is not very likely.

time to throw the gear away if you've got particles flowing through (or at least run it through a whatman filter).

How did you possibly inject it and not know it was there? Once it was injected you wouldn't know until you have a nasty abscess the doc cuts open and finds a chunk of rubber in the center of... You could only see it while it was in the barrel before injecting. In which case why would you inject it??? I'm confused as to how you could even be in your current situation.

If the rubber is sterile, your body will either try to find a way to eject it or encase it in scar tissue.

Don't stress over it. If the area injected becomes extremely hot to the touch, then that's the bodies way of trying to fight off an injection. I've had the same thing happen years ago. Nothing bad came from it.

I have also done this while drawing with an 18 ga. Needle. I switched out to a 23 injection tip, it still got me. I had an abscess that took weeks to work it's way to the surface. I cut it open and squeezed everything out, including the little piece of rubber stopper. I now only draw with 20-21ga. And noticed the stopper does not get chewed up as bad. Make sure u draw from a different spot on the stopper every time. Hope this helps someone.

Becomes like a zit and looks infected, then you just pick it out of the skin.

Why not use a 23 and avoid some of the bs? It doesn't take that much more time to draw with.

I've been in the medical field for a long time and have never seen or heard of a rubber stopper getting used to the point where it breaks off into the needle and is injected into the muscle. No worries ur body would just encapsulate it or it will eventually make it back to the surface. That's if u don't get the nastiest infection of ur life first. Good luck with that!

A solution is to preload your syringes.
Preload 10 syringes, one poke in the rubber, no issues.

you must be using a large gauge for it to flow through the needle bro

large gauge needles will cause this problem.

But large jugs of aas will sometimes degrade the rubber. Make sure to stow your vials upright so that the oil isn't touching the rubber constantly. Many guys hide there vials and lay them flat.

draw with a 20 or 21 gauge-18 will sometimes put a chunk of rubber in the oil

Ive done this tons of times when using a 50ml bottle, and drawing with a 18ga. Overtime the rubber stopper breaks up and then I pin some rubber. Nothing bad has came from it. Maybe switch to a 25 or 26 ga when you pin. I wouldn't worry about it tho

How could you know you injected a piece of the rubber stopper AFTER you injected it ??

I have had a piece of the rubber stopper in my vial before but I clearly noticed it in the vial while drawing my syringe.

Lol shitttttt...used to happen to me ages ago. Don't sweat it you will be fine. I think I can still see one under the skin in my delt.
