ALT levels

I just got blood work back, and it turns out my ALT level is at 188 :|
i dont know exactly why im posting this, lol. but the normal range is substantially lower than that. anyone else have a problem with high alt levels?
im not even taking anything right now.

training in itself will raise alt and ast levles...but how much varies...def.over eating is gonna put extra stress also....

Read the Synthergine discussion thread on elevated liver enzymes. It is a given that anyone lifting weights creates some muscle damage, which leaks enzymes into the blood stream causing skewed L.F.T.'s or higher than normal readings. Elevated CK levels are specific to muscle damage.

Do a google/Pubmed search on "causes of elevated liver enzymes" and you should get your answers. wrongdiagnosis.com has a article on your question also. Doctors misdiagnose elevated liver function tests.

Awhile back I did a blood test a day or two after doing legs once and my liver enzymes were really high. So the take home message is take some time off from the gym before getting blood work done.

Don't rule out other causes like Hep-C for one, or other liver diseases, anti-inflammatories, anti-E's, alcohol, medications, orals, etc.
