Any of you guys use a "hook grip"?

for what weight?
for what exercise?

Well today I tried it for shrugs w/ 405. But I'd like to start getting used to it more so I can incorporate it into my deadlifts. I have long fingers too, so it should come easy once I get used to it
 
I tried this today, felt a little odd, but bar definitely was locked in my hands, it wasn't going anyplace.


it's essential, if you want to do OL, but just like doing OL squats it's a part of the form that hurts and sucks getting used to but once you do, you'll realize how essential it is.
 
i used to do it but i don't any more...

i think regular grip is better because hook grip doesn't make your body work symetrically

however, i don't pretend to be a powerlifter and i also think that grip is better for heavy lifts (short series)
