anyone else get burnt out?

man i have been at it since i was 16 im not going to be 23 this year. i never really drank didnt party just worked out and was a boring person.

in the last year or so i have relaxed a lot, i still hit the gym 4 times a week or so and eat good, but on the weekends if i want a beer or to eat some junk food or barbecue i do it. i have found myself much happier this way.

hell im never going to be pro, compete on the national level so why take things so seriously? btw, im not in anyway knocking the people that are 100% hardcore i respect that immensly that you can keep the discipline to do that, but im just kind of curious if anyone else is like me???????????

I hear ya...

I realize that this is a hobby...if you do not plan on competing or trying to go to the next level, you should treat this as a hobby.

Like PHIL stated, one should enjoy this time...family...friends...life. only a few percent of us will ever see a pro stage...look at all the people onthese baords...and only a handful could compete at that level.

EAt be happy and feel good.
 
You see im a little different than most poeple. I NEED something like bodybuilding in my life to feel complete. Even if im never pro, i have to COMPETE in something. Il compete in almost anything, who can eat more cookies, tick tack toe, u name it.... il probably do it. I dont see it as "staying in shape or staying fit". I see going to the gym every dang day as my fun time and i look foward to it and enjoy it. I fall asleep pondering my next days workouts and what evercises i wanna do, and i damn love it. Still its the training and competing that i love, i dont care to actually be ripped to the bone all year round. Iv had abs since i was 2yrs old and i got pix to prove it, thats good enough for me. I eat what i want when i want as long as im not dieting for a show, becuase that is something else in life i very much enjoy, junk food!!!! I think i could burn out on a competition diet becuase its so strenuous and nobody really likes it, but il never burn out on training. EVER. I love it too damn much, its part of me, im empty without it. If i have a full time business someday and bust my ass and work my ass off and have ONE hour a day 4 days a week to myself for my own free time and whatever i possibly wanna do, u better bet ur ass ul find me in the gym.
 
im with toopowerful4u....i dont care that i wont be an IFBB pro ever, or national level or even close.... why take it seriously?? honestly, why do anything if your not going to do it 100%? thats just the way i look at it,,, if its worth my time and effort, then its worth it for me to nail down all the details too...i understand it may seem more fun to go out and party (im 22)..but for me it leaves an even emptier feeling, knowing that i would be hurting my progress towards my bodybuilding goals..but there is absolutely nothing wrong with having the gym as a hobby, no doubt about that
 
Naw i dont take the entire thing that seriously. I never let bodybuilding or my offseason diet hold me back from having fun or wating what i want etc....

Now tho, after 2.5yrs of training (3/4 of which was bulking) i never took my bulking diet serious ever, musta got 200g protein in a day a hand full of times tops, and still managed to gain 70lbs. Kinda made me wonder what my true potential is if i get my diet straight on top of the training. Im gonna give it a run this time for a few years and see what i can really do, then il decide where i stand from there. Curious what this body can do tho.... so im gonna give it a shot. Time to get serious :D
 
i can say that after 12 or so yrs at this im a little burnt.i mean,the injects,the constant aquisition(sp)of gear,and all the damn food that i have to cram down my throat.i love the gym and it is my time to myself but im at a point now where training isnt fun anymore.i fear each day if i will tear something or aquire another joint injury.the weights that im moving now are just too dangerous just to go in there half assed and train.i guess im losing that fire i used to have.i will always love bodybuilding but my days of heavy,balls to the wall training are very limited.so in that regards i see what your saying.

yeah i guess thats what its all about. enjoying your life. dont let BB hold you back from that. i did that from the time i was 15 till about 22. i do appreciate though, that it did keep me from drinking and driving while i was in high school and doing stupid things, but now that im a "wiser" grasshopper :D i am enjoying my life outside of BB more.

i will always workout and keep in shape w/out a doubt just might not have as many veins or big as biceps.. lol,, they can keep the acne though..

Got Juice you're at the age I got burnt out too. I trained hard and didn't miss a meal from about 18-24. Juiced 3-4 months on and 2 months off the entire time. Went from a very skinny 145 to a high of 240 but was usually 215-230 always lean. I was never that good at sports so it was fun to succeed at something but as you get older priorites change.

If I had elite genetics I think I would keep going with it but in my life now theres too many drawbacks to juicing. I'm 27 now. So I would say what you're going through is normal. It seems like you have your head on straight and are doing good with you're life now bro. Are you still with that cute girl you posted a pic of not too long ago?
 
yes i am still with her, shes is great man. we are coming up on a year here soon. she has actually lived with me for 7 months. i have had a 3 year and a 2 year relationship with much cheating involved in the other relatiohships. i have been good to her and am actually thinking about getting engaged to her somewhat soon. thanks for asking, btw never thought i would say the words marriage 3 years ago. :D
