Back into lifting - 5 x 5 or 5/3/1 BBB or other?

I have ran 531 for a while in the past and have just picked it up again this week.

I'm doing a bodybuilding hybrid version. As with the majority of his 531 programs you do the first two sets for the prescribed reps (5 or 3) then the last one for at least the prescribed reps if that makes sense. Ie today I did 5 5 5+ (10)

To be honest I keep going back to sheiko. I always seem to progress with that program. I really dig it. Although you do bench three times a week so that could irritate your shoulder a little. I'm on the cms prep 4 day routine where I am benching three times a week deadlifting twice and squatting twice as well.

I have not looked at that at all.

I am getting back into the weight after being off for a solid month. I am feeling my way through and my plan is to do 2 sets of high reps and 2 sets of low reps on the main lift and higher reps on the assistance exercises until I merge it into a good routine.
 
3x5 or 5x5 would seem better. you could probably squeeze way more out of linear progression, especially if you are not natural.
 
Personally, I like to mix things up. It keeps me sane end enjoying the training. That's when the biggest gains came for me. So don't be afraid to experiment at least a little in order to find out what you respond the best to.
 
I personally do 4 to 6 range .... ex max weight until I can acheieve 6 reps then bump up 5 lbs or so and ideally would acheieve 4 and stay there until I can get 6 reps and continue adding weight etc
