does anyone train their back for width one week then thickness the next week or do you hit a variety each time?

i want to change up and try just width one week then thickness next week but not sure.

Main goal is to bring lats out wider, thats my hardest pose to hit. got big lats but can bring em out.

IMO there is no such thing as isolation exercices for the back... heavy rows, chins or pulldowns, just to name a few, work both width and thickness.

deadlifts, barbell bent rows, chins/pulldowns, shrugs - all you will ever need

Gironda chins

A great exercise for width and thickness is Gironda chins. It has the benefits of a chin/pullover/row all in one movement. The trick is to pull the bar into your lower chest instead of your clavicle. Give them a shot.

Same thinking here. I had great results with nothing but heavy deads, heavy t-bars and heavy narrow grip pull-downs

thats what i thought. i usually start with a row or deadlift, move to a cable row, t bar row, wide grip pull down, pullovers, 1 arm rows, and a underhand row.>... maybe doing too much???

I've taken a tip from powerlifters and stopped training my deadlift. I only train rack deadlifts now. Squats, heavy power shrugs, rows... take care of what I am missing from floor deadlifts.
