It seems so many things said to be bad for us a few years back are now good for us. Look at the recent studies on coffee. They are saying coffee is excellent source of anti-oxidents. Also nutrients that can only be found in coffee. Said to protect against liver damage, type2 diabities, certain cancers and heart disease. 4 8oz cups a day.
Todays bad foods can be tomorrows health foods.

Egg yolks are back in also. Saw a news cast the other night saying that you should eat a few egg yolks with your eggs because they are not as cholesterol building as once thought to be. It seems like everything comes full circle, and what we were brought up that was proven to be toxic in the 80s now gets a second chance.

I guess this is were everything in moderation comes from.
I seen a list of things that we were told to avoid yet now they recommend.
I think longevity is more genetic than what we eat. Not that foods can not influence are health or help it.
My grandfather just turned 88 and eats whatever he wants,drinks beer and smokes cigars and has never had a health problem. All his sisters 3, of them are in thier 90's. They all still drive,live alone and have thier wits.
Then look at these people who are helth nuts and drop dead of a heart attack on thier 5 mile jog while snacking on a beensprout.
Everything in moderation and that goes for everything but LOVE!

Caffiene is screwy with my heart. But that is probably just me. Haven't had any coffee/caffiene for two years. Plan on keeping it that way...
