I just wanted to say that your words and stories are not falling on deaf ears. There are many of us listening and heeding your advice. For me i came to the conclusion that i am NOT a competitive athlete and i am being very selfish to risk my health jsut to carry a few more pounds of muscle. I have a good internal medicine specialist that has me on HRT which would have been necessary regardless due to pre-existing medical conditions. I take only 100mg of test cyp per week. We are monitoring all crucial blood tests as well as planning to do full organ function and bone density scans etc to fully analyze my health. I don't know much about all these tests but he wants to be absolutely sure there are no hidden problems. Looking back over the years I have to say i feel kind of retarded, i used ALOT of steroids and quite a bit of GH as well. I hate to admit it but the truth is i NEVER competed, otehr than some fun strongman stuff. I have been off the heavy androgens for about 6 months and i actually look better to 90% of the population. i am certainly not knocking anyones right to do as they wish but those of us that are / were using large amounts and not even competing, i think we need to seriously analyze what is important and heed the words of those that have been there. Anyway..i am rambling, just wnat to say thanks to those who have made the effort to open our eyes.

As Long as I can remember they have been preaching to the members here reasonable Doses.
 
Great post morepain. I totally agree. Isn't it better to be reasonable with your dosages, look good and have a good time in the gym for the long haul, rather than jacking it way up and something bad happen to sideline you completely?
 
I myself never used to listen, but when phill kept drilling it into our heads about doses i changed my thinking. I look better on 300mg test and 200 deca with a clean diet than i looked on 2.5 grams or test 600 eq 600 deca and a handfull of drols............................

i know its nuts! For years i thought 1000mg per week was the minimum i could take and even "maintain"

I NEVER listened to anyone in regards to dosage, I was abusing the shit like it was candy. I thought I was fucking Superman and none of those horror stories would happen to me. I have nobody to blame but myself and from the beginning I took responsibility. Im glad alot of people listened to me but many have not.

The truth of the matter is and I WANT EVERYONE TO FUCKING LISTEN.....ITS NOT ALL ABOUT THE DRUGS ASSHOLES.

TRAINING, NUTRITION, REST.... those are the keys, kick ass on those build up your base, and after a few years add alittle test or deca, whatever you want in sensible doses and see what you got. If your genetics dictate that you "have it" then you will know. If you dont "have it" then just keep things simple and live a strong healthy life.

There is no need to mega dose anything, its not worth it. I am 280+ now and I am only on HRT and I have never been stronger or more massive. Granted, I am fatter then I was while "ON" but I am way healthier now (blood tests/pressure/scans are awesome) So you know what, I have proven that you can build muscle by following those three TRAINING, REST, NUTRITION.

When Im ready to cut down and be 250 or so, I know I will look great, alot leaner then I am now, and will do it without worrying about "what type of cutting stack will I use?" Fuck that...its all adjusting the diet not the drugs.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this board in regards to training and nutrition. For me I adopted Dante's training and it was a Godsend, DC training has given me the size and power I always wanted and it works without megadoses,lol can you believe it? The trick is not the drugs but progression in your training and eating.

I dont care if its Phil, Dante, BigA or whatever training you follow from these vets, they will all work if you STICK WITH IT and kick ass week after week. BE CONSISTENT.

Congrats MorePain. Its amazing to me that while I made semi-intelligent rational decisions in most areas of my life, that I ignored common sense in this area as well.

It wasn't so much massive dosages as length of time on/off.
I also took undue legal risk countless times putting my freedom and career at risk. Unbelievable looking back on it.

I think you will be happy with your decisions. I am on HRT 100 per week and am getting compliments weekly. Never would have believed it, until I had my "crutches" kicked out from under me with a health problem.

Congratulations on reaching your decision without having to take a virtual baseball bat over the head like I did. Hopefully your witnessing will provide inspiration for other hard heads out there. Be at Peace.

You don't know how much hate mail and other bullshit I have gotten over the years when trying to preach sanity and safety. So to hear that it does make a difference to some means a lot to me.

me too my friend...i am a vp of a corporation (small) and also have poeple that count on me to provide. The risk/reward ratio just makes no sense at all. i think the only thing that keeps alot of people doing it is they don't really think they will ever get caught. I have seen too many people with this same belief locked up. Thats a whole other set of reasons to get yourself legal. Either by stopping or getting on legitimate HRT as prescribed by a physician.
 
I think that it is important that people out there see that things can go wrong when you live the lifestyle we do, and that there really isnt any reason to be doing that to ourselves. Its great to see people like yourself that have made the move to be more healthy. I just wish I had read some posts like mine about 5 years ago. Like Baldnazi has said, you never think that its going to happen to you. Now here I am with a metal box on my chest and Im only 38 years old. Most of the people in the cardiac unit at the hospital were 2x my age.
 
make no mistake brother you are in my prayers daily, it is somewhat strange yet comforting that proffessional muscle has become a source of support for those of us that are stopping all the drug abuse and nonsense that goes along with it. I do want to re-iterate that i feel there are some that do wisely use these compounds and will probably have no issues, its just that i was not one of them. For me the smart thing at this point is to concentrate on being healthy, i am actually intentionally losing weight at this point to hopefully reduce the overall stress on my body and improve my quality of life. Like many others i have struggled with sleep disorders and i truly think that losing some of the size and excess weight will help with that.
 
someone should sticky this over in the beginners forum! BALD is right just about any training program will work if you work the program. some like phil's , some like DC, but the people that preach that particular method all work the shit out of it. i used to jump around from program to program trying to find the fastest way to add muscle and i did get some good gains, however, until i picked one thing and really worked it i didnt grow as well as i have been. as for the drug use, i think just about everyone at one point thinks more is better just like i did until i came here. im no where near as big or strong as most of the guys on this board and i have only been treated with respect even though im not in "theyre" class. i havent seen any other place where so many people take theyre time to actually care for other people's health, most of them people the dont actually know. i also think we should add dad, Phil, Alex, Ouch, and Big A to this list since personally i feel that they have been instrumental in helping me and im sure many many others.

agree with everyone who says u dont need huge dosages, it does make it easier but it is not needed, some can use very little and and gain like myself some may need twice what i need but i am talking 600 mg's for those folks...lower dosages also force u to make sure u r training and eating right which will help ur health in the long run
