Beginning of Olympics

Any of you watching the beginning of the olympic games, did you see those drummers? I gotta say it gave me chills! I dont watch tv that much, but I watch it as much as possible when the olympics are on. Loving the opening ceremony and cant wait for the competitions to start!

The whole opening ceremonies were beyond words. I usually don't watch them, but I'm glad I did this time. There is no way that London can top that show in 2012. Usually fireworks bore me, but at the end of the evening, the fireworks display was unreal. They were lighting them all over town at the same time.

i wish they would keep the close up view on the swimmers. that far away point of view where you see ALL the swimmers makes it very boring, but with the close up view you actually get to see how amazing thse olympic swimmers are... fucking sharks, they are !

Has anybody watched much of the olympic lifting. Those little guys are posting up some HUGE numbers in the C & J as well as the snatch

i can't stand that commercial where the camera is ogling a bunch of super ripped athletes and then shows one of them eating a McDonald's fried chicken sandwich

there is something real deceptive and unethical about that. impressionable kids watch this stuff.

The Chicoms are a bunch of brutal collectivists who often remind me of insects in man-pants and Communism is the most fundamentally abhorrent ideological tendency ever created, but there is in fact something to be said for the discipline and genuine patriotism that their system breeds in people...especially in sport. They're quite severe, to say the least. The DDR was awe-inspiring in this regard as well. After all, we owe the existence of the wonderful Sched. III goodies that we all enjoy to the East Bloc, and especially to the East Germans.

I cringed when I saw the opening ceremonies because it made me contrast them in my mind with 1996...if you recall that involved pickup trucks, paper mache birds, and mentally retarded, millionaire basketball players fulfilling their endorsement contracts under the auspices of representing America.

If I was an optimist, I'd suggest that this sort of thing might prompt America to get its shit together, but I'm not an optimist.
