I've always been interested in knowing the way you train and diet whether for gaining mass or contest prep. and i'm sure a lot of other members have been interested too ;)
would you mind giving us just a general idea of how you train or diet?:D

Not at all Bro, just there is people that pay dam good money to advertise on here and make a living from there advice. I respect these guys because of the contrabutition they make to the board and would not like to offend anyone.

However I am flattered, that a member would single me out for my advice. So out of respect for buselmo, you guys and this board that I love. I will post tonight as much as I can regards the approach I take to Bodybuilding without steping on anyones toes.

i have always had tremendous respect for you. and after reading this post, i have even more respect. Just wanna say I didn't mean to ask for specific details... just if you train low volume, high volume... from your posts, i know you're a high protein guy, and during the last couple of weeks you go on really low/no carb after you get ripped to damn shreds!!! but, I just wanted the general answers, you know?... didn't mean to step on your tows :D
 
My apologies for taking so long to post a reply, I have been flat to the Matt.

Off season.

I train EOD following what I would say is a mix between DC training and heavy duty Dorian Yates type training, I will train 2 weeks heavy one week light and repeat. My diet gets fairly loose in the off season as I find eating clean all the time does not provide the amount of Kcal I need to grow. So I shoot for 2g protein per lb of body weight and anything else within reason goes though I try to eat clean as much as I can. Typical meal would be 2 large chicken breasts, hand full of brown rice and 2 scoops of weight gainer. Some days I will eat or drink 6 meals, some days it could be 10. I have a cheat meal most days to get extra kcal, even if its something like subway or similar. Cardio is done 3-4 times a week and I try to get some pad and bag work in each week. I will drink as much water as possible, in the off season nothing gets weighed, I am too busy eating and drinking. However everything changes pre contest. So stay tuned for part 2.

Always interested in hearing peoples approaches to thier bodybuilding lifestyle with regards to training splits, nutrition, and recovery. I think it would be great to see people's posts on offseason and precontest approaches (generic versions of course!).

Keep it coming man. What do you weigh offseason and precontest?

250lb at present with abs but intended to do allot of growing. I am taking things a bit slower at the moment, but plan on bulking as close to 280lb as possible.

My last show I was 230lb but not in mint condition, I competed a few months before at 210lb best condition so far. I am trying to find out how to hold on to my mass and come in the same condition as I did when I was 210lb.
