biggest natural gain on calves?

Calves are a tricky muscle group to work with, very hard to grow. I'm wondering what is the biggest increment in size gain you guys have had naturally or have heard of. When I say naturally, I mean no spot work, synthol, spot injections, implants:p. My calves I have never been too content with, they were around 15.5" before I started training now around 17.5" they look ok, but average for a bbers calves, im just lucky I have small joints. I have a feeling no matter how hard I train them im going to cap out around 18.5", if im lucky. I would love to hear some type of success story to change my mind. :)
 
I don't know how tall you are but if your calves were 15.5 inches before you started training that is not bad at all.
 
I got lucky in the calve/leg department, but unlucky in the arm dept. Calves when I was all natual and trained at around 20yrs old were about 16.5". Now at 24yrs old they are 18.5" and very lean with veins.
 
How do you hit the calves? Have you tried different ways of tranining? Just curious.
 
Not sure who your ? was addressed to, but I usually only do 2 calve excersies 1x per week. Standing and seated raises. 10reps 3sets each. Sometime I only train them 1x per 2weeks. Them and legs are my only parts that seem to never lose size and keep growing

Hard to believe but when started calves were 12",,,,now 18+".

Wow, that is a great gain on your calves... I've only gained a couple of inches on them since I started training.
 
when I started 3 years ago they were probably 16"

now they are closer to 20"...haven't measured in a while just guessing..

no "spot work" on them.

combination of genetics and training them until you fall down...you really have to punish the calves!

i agree with FB!!you can cause the muscle type to change fast-slow or slow to fast depending on training.after i learned this i started doing 1-all out heavy super set of calves a week.my calves exploded and others i have trained have too.

take note:if you have long muscle belly's and/or long distances between your knee and ankle then big calves are not in your future

I don't care about how big they are, I care about how much of a gain you acheived. Most guys that have 19-20"+ calves naturally also have ankles that are fatter then my calves, no symetry, not the look im going for.

I don't even think Cutler had lean 19" calves natually.
