Blood work

How soon after PCT should blood work be done? If it is to close to or during the PCT would't that cause false readings? So is it safe to say 1 week after completion of PCT everything should be clear of your system, and the blood work results would be more accurate? Just curious what every ones opinion is on this.
Discuss.

It is funny you asked that, I was just thinking about that this week. I would assume that once your PCT is complete you should go get blood work to check to see if you are good, or possibly underestimated your PCT need and need to continue.

I would definitely like to hear from someone else who has had experience in this - Big Bapper, Dad, OTH

I would say 2 to 3 weeks....

If you consider steady state concentrations of nolvadex are achieved in roughly 4 weeks and steady-state concentrations for N-desmethyl tamoxifen (this is nolvadex's primary metabolite) are achieved in about 8 weeks the half-life would be approximately 14 days.

This is of course if you are only using Nolvadex. I will follow up with additional info if anyone wants to know the other ancillaries data.

Thanks.

I did not know the half life. I am using clomid as well, do you know wht the half life is with it?

well, i am not a fan of clomid for various reason but this is per the rxlist.com

There are no adequate or well-controlled studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of CLOMID in the treatment of male infertility. In addition, testicular tumors and gynecomastia have been reported in males using clomiphene. The cause and effect relationship between reports of testicular tumors and the administration of CLOMID is not known.

Pharmacokinetics

Based on early studies with 14C-labeled clomiphene citrate, the drug was shown to be readily absorbed orally in humans and excreted principally in the feces. Cumulative urinary and fecal excretion of the 14C averaged about 50% of the oral dose and 37% of an intravenous dose after 5 days. Mean urinary excretion was approximately 8% with fecal excretion of about 42%.

Some 14C label was still present in the feces 6 weeks after administration. Subsequent single-dose studies in normal volunteers showed that zuclomiphene (cis) has a longer half-life than enclomiphene (trans). Detectable levels of zuclomiphene persisted for longer than a month in these subjects. This may be suggestive of stereo-specific enterohepatic recycling or sequestering of the zuclomiphene. Thus, it is possible that some active drug may remain in the body during early pregnancy in women who conceive in the menstrual cycle during CLOMID therapy.

So, it appears that the possibility of clomid being present in the system for up to 6 weeks or longer is possible... however, based on the first paragraph it is not really helpful for male infertility...

go figure....

Hope this helps
