caffeine question

hey guys,

i am about to compete in a sports even that is basically a 2-3 minute obstacle course. my conditioning is great, but i was wondering if you guys think taking some caffeine or some accelerade with caffeine before the obstacle course migh t help me shave off some seconds at the end, or give me an extra boost during hte last 30 seconds or so.

The International Olympic Committee presently lists caffeine as a banned substance... they may be on to something ;)
 
Why not, my pre workout drink is a 16oz cup of seven eleven coffee
no sugarre

That's a really good observation. If something is banned by the IOC and/or illegal, it probably works. :cool:
 
yes it will help. Take it on an empty stomach about 30-45 minutes prior to the event. Yes if the IOC banned it they did so for a reason!:D
 
made a mistake, not post but pre workout drink, coffee.

Yes caffeine will most likely help. It does wonders for me.

HAHAHAHA oh well I guess it stopped working then..............Damn I gotta go and find my local crack dealer now!!!! This sucks!!:rolleyes:
 
ephedrine or eca will do more for nerve excitation and improving time than just plain caffeine. If you are really serious I would base out with potassium citrate 30-40 minutes pre, take some carnosine, taurine, and citrulline malate with the eph or eca or theophylline/theobromine stack and you will shave more than a few seconds off you time. No lactic acid build up and no wall to speak of if the event is only 3 minutes
 
that is the question i am asking...i know caffeine is a performance enhancer, but from what i've read, it really helps a lot with endurance type events...i'm really wondering if it will have any benefit for a 2-3 minute obstacle course...i'm worried that it will elevate my heart rate and make me feel more tired.....any knowledge?

how much do you weigh? take 150-250mg and you'll be fine. and I believe it will help... it will boost your energy and keep you mentally focused on the task at hand if nothing else.
