What's up fellas. I'm 26 years old 6' (240 pre surgery 225 now). On March 21 while flat bench pressing I completely tore my pectoral major muscle from the where the muscle turns to tendon. I went to the doctor, got MRI's, even a second opinion, etc. 7 weeks later on May 9 I had surgery to repair this. The surgery was a success. My doctor reattached 80% of the tendon but 20% he couldn't because it was too scarred down. Do you guys think only 80% reattached is successful?
I was in a sling for 6 weeks but to be honest with you, stopped wearing it after 2 weeks and was just very careful with the arm. I started PT 2 weeks after surgery. I have been in PT for 5 weeks now. My pain isn't that bad in my pec but my bicep/brachialis is swollen and hurts whenever I flex it or
use the arm. Is this normal for 6 weeks post op?
Can anyone here who has had their pec tears surgically repaired please respond. I was hoping for some info on your injury, surgery, rehab, recovery, etc.
I used to amateur box years ago and wanted to one day have another match. Is this the end of the road for me in terms of weightlifting and boxing? Will I ever be the same again?
