Former DUI arrest and currently arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, and a high profile person was killed. At 2 million bail and vehicular manslaughter charges, Kirby can kiss his ass goodby.

From what I have read looks like he has himself to blame. He was racing another guy and lost control. Just because the other guy lived doesn't mean he murdered the other guy. They also arrested the girl that was in the car with Kirby for suspicion of public intoxication??? I don't think that this Kirby guy was drunk cause it said in another paper that they were waiting for results of what I think was a blood test and you can bet that the used a breathalyzer on him at the scene just like his girl. Anyway, pretty sad thing to happen. I own a fast car and have never gone above 90 and that was trying to get the heck out of the way of a semi. Racing and speeding is just plan stupid.

Results always pend on a blood test because they want to be damn sure he was drunk when the trial rolls around. Another case in CA involved a Porn Star who was racing some dude and a wreck occurred and they charged him with the same stuff. Maybe they have evidence linking the wreck to the Porsche driver? who knows.. Either way with a previous conviction he should get ready to hold his ankles for a long time.

i had NO IDEA he was a deputy for the sheriff department.. never judge a book by its cover i guess...

i also believe kirby guy shouldnt be getting in trouble besides leavin gthe scene... they both chose to race ( if thats what they were doing)

If I am not mistaken, CA law was just changed. If someone takes a life while driving under the influence of alcohol it is no longer vehicular manslaughter its considered murder. I wanna say the minimun sentence is 15 to life...I could be wrong on the length of prison time. I believe it went into effect as of Jan 1st...
