competition color thread........

just curious to what everyone does for their color for a show. pro tan, dream tan, dyoderm, airbrush?

ive been using a full dyoderm to a half of pro tan mix. and i try to get as many coats as possible starting fri evening, and then a touch up coat or two sat morning. it comes out to about 6-7 coats.

i know its a trial and error thing, but im curious to here everyones methods.

I have used protan, and then i have also used protan mixed with Olympic tan. I like the protan just by itself.. i think my color looked the best when i used only protan. When i mixed the protan and Olympic tan, I liked the color at first but then it looked like my color was a little on the reddish/brown side.
If my show is on Saturday, i will start putting protan on Thursday, It helps keep the tan looking nicer....and Finish off on Friday...i dont like to have to put tan on the day of my show. The ProTan girl told me that you should rinse off after every 2 coats of tan you put on. I havent tried doing that yet though.

If i could of had someone airbrush me i would have done that. DB if you want to get airbrushed, there is a place on 420 that does it.

For last 2 shows used Jan Tana show tan for a base coat. Put it on then take a shower to get streaks out. Let stand over night. Next morning use 2 coats pro tan. Worked well for me color wise and didnt have to retouch again for the nite shows.

Olympic tan 4 coats, then Claud Groulx "final touch". Its a stage oil/finnishes off color nicely. Check out my color in members pix section if u want.

I apply a coat of Pro-Tan on Wednesday morning, shower it off thursday morning then apply 2 coats on Thursday and 2 on Friday, drying each coat in with a hairdryer, makes it come up a lot better. Before I go on stage I use Panata tanning cream, very messy but very good.

I put on 2 costs of pro tan on Friday night and one "touch up" pro tan session early no sat with one coat of Dream Tan #2. I touch up the dream tan before pre-judging. For sheen I use Pam cooking spray and pat most of it off with a towel for a more matted shine so I don't look too oily under the lights.

You can check out my tan in the judges critique section, it might be too dark for you but it works well with my skin tone as I am naturally really dark.
