Crappy Gym Equipment

SO...was doing some off-rack-deadlifts tonight, just warming up with 315...put the weight back on the rack and BAM!!!!! The peg on the rack fell off! Unfortunately, as the weight fell to the floor on the 'pegless' side, the bar rolled down my left knee and bruised the HELL out of it. WTF!?

Naturally, (and as i know most of us on here would do the same), I finished my deadlifts OFF THE FLOOR, and THEN I told one of the trainers the rack broke. Hopefully, they'll fix it before Jumbo and his girlfriend try to use it for 'inclined push-up claps' in an attempt to lose 'ugly bellyfat.'

Just pisses me off that I can't trust the equipment now. That should be the least of any lifter's concerns when in the act of lifting. It's dangerous.

Once years ago after a heavy ass squat day i loaded up the leg press proceeded to do my set after I finished I put the safeties stood on up and bam the 1000 pounds or so came crashing down nearly pinning me in machine, missed crushing my shins by an inch. To this day I think about it every time I rack heavy poundage. It was ab OLD Nebula press- the welds broke and I was lucky.

I've lived in some really small towns that had one crummy gym, but a gym is better than no gym. I just dealt with it.

A friend of mine carries wrenches, oil and an extra cable snap in case something needs looking after during his work out.
