My endocronologist recommended at least 6 grams to me recently. However he also wants me to take "Ortho Molecular Plus DHA" which is not even in the realm of possibility financially for me.
The ratio per pill is DHA 580mg and EPA 60 mg and he wanted me to take 10/day
He said the body can convert the DHA to EPA, but not vice versa
Anyone familiar with Ortho Molecular? it's crazy expensive ($35/60 for the DHA plus) I don't see any way it would benefit my Dr. to push it, he's not selling it
I personally have found little added benefit over regular, high quality fish oil based omega-3 supplements. If your doctor is recommending it for specific reasons relevant to your health/circumstances then that is different

2.5-5g OMEGA-3 (EPA + DHA) depending on omega-6 intake. the ratio is more important than the quantity
