dextrose powder

Anyone use the dextrose powder with their protein shake afyer a workout? Ive not seen much sucess with this other thank my shake tasting very good

i usually go w waxymaize(fast carb). i stay away from dextrose,maltodextrin bc of the bloat and seems to put bad weight on me. I really don't think you need fast acting sugars like these unless your completely depleting your GI levels with very long duration training. JMO though.

It can cause loose bowels in a lot of people. If I use it, I don't take too much. I can handle about 20g. If I need more carbs fast, I use waxy maise.

I take 75-100g of dextrose with 50g of protein, 10g of creatine and a teaspoon of leucine in a shaker cup immediately after I'm done working out and when I get home from the gym I slam down a regular meal within an hour of taking the shake. I have been doing this for about a year. Never get bloated or put on bad weight doing this.

Right now, I mix 60-70 grams with 1 cup of powdered (blended) oats, 16oz skim milk, 4 scoops of TP whey isolate and a little extra water to thin it down.

Dextrose

I assume when you refer to powder, your referring to pure dextrose sugar.

That being the case, the dextrose will spike your insulin levels quickly, allowing better protein absorption after a workout. Dextrose (CORN SUGAR) is the only sugar to go directly into the bloodstream through the abdomen. Some guys mix there post workout protein with soda pop (HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SUGAR)

Two scoops of your favorite whey protein and a Pepsi. It works!!
