Diet Help - How do I stop mid-night binges?
I've started up dieting again after a 2 week break. I do good during the day as far as sticking to my plan, but every thing seems to go to hell in the middle of the night. I wake up about 2-3 times a night to piss or just cause I can't sleep and I always seem to stumble into the kitchen and attack the Peanut Butter or whatever I can find. It's getting really out of control and jacking up my calorie intake for the day. I 'm still half aseelp when I start eating so making a consious decision not to do it doesn't really work (it's almost a reflex now). Any suggestions or tricks to stop this? I know you guys that have been doing shows must have dealt with this.

Well this is the trickiest part of dieting there is like NO CURE per say. I would say keep a like gallon of water next to bed and when hungry just drink till your full.hehhee The ONLY time I get TOTALLY hungry when dieting is at night.

night binges
I do what RY said except I add crystal light to my water so its actually kind of like a treat at night. Otherwise its mind over matter and unfortunately for most the mind loses. Stay strong and eventually you'll get past it.

sounds dumb, but I put my before picture and a picture of 2 of my competitors from last year on the fridge and on the cubboards. it drove my wife nuts but when I woudl wake up and see those asshole that beat me last year I would not touch anything excpet a big swig of water.
Just stay tough, night time and weekends are th ehardest time to diet, but once ove rthat hump you will be fine. Good luck.

I am dieting for the first time in 2 years, and it sucks. I also have the same problem with late night binges. I was told by my buudy who wrote me the diet that he just fills up on water to feel full. So far it has been working.

Unless your into last 2 weeks or so of show prep. Have a shake at night with zero or very few carbs. Take the edge off and protien calories are no big deal.

I used to have my wife hide the peanut butter I was like a junkie fiending for a fix. I would find myself at 2:00 a.m. tearing through the cupboards looking for it. Stubborn wife would never give in and tell me...lol. Wanna know what cured me? Losing!

i'm taking 3.5grams of ala per day right now with any meals that have carbs in it. i am dieting for a show so i can't say for sure that its working great but i think that it is in fact working. i seem to be in some kind of low grade ketosis while still eating about 300g carbs per day.

Before retiring at night, have a blended shake such as UltraSize (Beverly International) or Night Formula (Protein Factory). Add a teaspoon of flax seed oil to slow down the absorbtion. You won't wake up starving to death a night plus it feeds your body while you sleep.
Good luck,
