Diet when no Lifting/Exercising can occur??

Long story short...

I sustained 1 injury that I let go, which never got better... then ended up with a different injury which prohibited me from doing anything.

I have been doing either minimal exercise or none for over 2 months, and will finally be cleared to go back to action this week. I still gotta start very light though.

In the process I lost plenty of muscle, gained fat (and weight), and that sucks...

I was wondering what you guys do when you can't lift or do any exercise in relation to diet to keep fat gaining and muscle loss at a min.

Can't

I find I am unable or unwilling to stay on a strict diet when I can't work out. Once I get back to training the discipline just seems to snap back into place.
 
Yup.... that's why I was asking...

Once I stop 1 thing, the other thing follows. I hate myself for that.

On a side note my injuries were from playing hockey. I have been playing competitive hockey for a good 15yrs and have never sustained any major or long lasting injuries. I guess aside from back pain, and the occasional massive contusion.

This was just a period of bad luck...
 
moderate fat
moderate/high protein
low to no carb

you'll lose some water and glycogen weight
but it will come back fairly quick once you resume training
