Does anyone here know this wrestler

Ken Wilson--aka The Mercenary. He is a good friend of mine, a great singer, loves God. He seems to personally know folks like Rick Flair and others like him.

Thanks,
Di

Where did he wrestle, or is he still wrestling? I've been watching wrestling since I was a little kid and I've never heard of him.

I'm not sure

All I know is that he did some expeditions and was probably a "beat up boy" for these pro wrestlers.

He's not wrestling now. He is into ministry now. I was just curious if anyone may know him here.

was he a jobber? also did he have other manakers?

What do you mean by

jobber is a guy who loses to big names. Manaker was a typo... was wondering if he had a monaker or other gimmicks or names he went by.

but I think a jobber is what he was. As far as I know he only went by "The Mercenary."

hmmmmm

i have worked for wcw and yankee pro ,ucw and ecw. ive never heard of him. doesnt mean hes lying though. there was a mercenary like in the late 80s but dont know if its the same guy.

Well, I finally just emailed the man himself

This is what he said:

hi di!!!!

as for wrestling i was a bad guy!!...also i was a "jobber" my moto was "pin me pay me", and since it was all scripted won loss records were not important...and a jobber is one who lost to the "stars"...so i have met everyone from hulk hogan to ric flair!...oh well gotta run, see you sunday!.......ken

sorry bro but i wasnt a jobber. and every jobbers motto is pin me pay me. he probably has met the "names" but they dont know him from a hole in the wall. they might not even know him by face. jobbers are a dime a dozen and once you do a job....well its over. a big name will "shoot" or just plain refuse to job at any time.he may have wrestled but w/out pics of his matches or a video, its hard to say if hes telling the truth.one whodeos the job also makes about 50 bucks a match. i was lucky right from the jump i didnt have to job because i had a look and some talent. if th fed can make $$ w u , they will milk every cent from it. see if he can send you some pics. the guy i was thinking of wqas "the stalker" not the mercenary, so i have no idea who this guy was. and usualy jobbers just use their name, and have no gimmik, gimmiks are reserved for people who will take part in story lines.
later bro

That is what he told me was that he has "met" many of the "stars." I doubt seriously that he has any type of relationship with them today.

Anyhow, I like to find connections between people, and I just wanted to know if anyone remembered him.
Thanks for your input,
Sincerely,
Di

Too bad the word "jobber" has such negative connotations with it in this era of "pro wrestling." The so-called "jobber" in the era of the '60's, '70's & early '80's was extremely well respected, as he was the one who helped put the "big star" over like a million bucks. In fact, promoters & bookers scouted especially for talented wrestlers who could "job," more than they looked for the "star" they could put over with a strap. The guys they would hire as "jobbers" would usually work for them regularly for several years and often got paid more than the "stars," because they were reliable and had no problem "doing the job."

Personally, I've been watching wrestling since I was about 12 (I'm 43 now) during the great days of Mid-South Wrestling. The name sounds familiar to me but I can't put a face to it. Is this the person of whom you speak?:

Weazyl started his wrestling career back in the oringinal GCW where he teamed up with his mentor and best friend "The Mercenary" Shane Stevens. To form the stable B.A.D. With Stevens' experience and pure ability and Weazyl's youth and desire they went on to turn the wrestling world upside down. Weazyl had the raw talent and Stevens just refined it to make him one of the greatest wrestlers ever to set foot in a GCW ring!!!!! At the young age of 20 Weazyl became the first and ONLY GCW Canadian Champion shortly after that 2 titles joined creating the GCW CANAM title. After losing the match for the CANAM title Weazyl turned his sights on something bigger and better The GCW World Title!!! He won the World title (with a little help from B.A.D.) and is the ONLY man to hold the GCW World Title 5 TIMES!!!! Weazyl and Stevens went on to win the GCW Tag Team Titles!!! Weazyl likes to fluant his money and tell everyone how good he really is! On a more personal note The Weazyl has been known to endulge in illegal substances and drink excessivly from time to time, and has been busted on air countless number of times. However with his vast resourses he always seems to buy his way out of trouble. He is one of the dirtyest players in the game and will do anything to win!!! Another thing about him is that he is a practical joker and has been known to pull childish pranks (the only one who finds them funny is him)!!!! The Weazyl considers everyone (with the exception of "The Mercenary" Shane Stevens) to insuperior to him!!! Gold is the ONLY thing that matters to him and he will stop at nothing to get it!!!!! He has the Skill to do it, and the body to back it up history WILL repeat itself!!!!
