Does take metformin make you make more injury prone?

Hey this might sound silly but ever since I’ve started taking metformin one year ago I notice that I’m more injury prone. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older (now 32 almost 33) but in this time the only thing I’ve changed is the addition of metformin. Call me crazy but for some reason I feel more delicate while taking it. In the past year I’ve injured my lower back squatting and had a slight tear in my quad.

Is this possible?

As it helps lower your blood sugar levels. Your cell walls should be healthier over time so I would think that there would be less chance of injury. As people seem to live longer that take it I can't see how it could make the average person more injury prone.

It does lower IGF-1 so who knows...?
