I was incline dumbell benching 140's I did it 6 times, that is the heaviest weight at my gym, some old man comes up to me and is like wow you are the strongest guy here. I know im not that strong how heavy does your gym go up too. We are trying to talk our cheap ass gym owner to get some more dumbells, and a tbar row setup, im so sick of the barbell in the corner trick...

we have 135's, i bought a set of the olympic db handles, they are a pain to use but i can go heavier

the barbell in the corner trick is 99% of the time the better way to go anyways.

hey bro the barbell in the corner is a staple of bodybuilding training like squats and bech press, and chins. you will grow more from thaat exersize than the machine that dosent allow you to breath. the bells in my gym go up in incriments in 10's up to 150 then 175 then 200, its a personal training studio my buddy owns, I think he said he spent like 1200 bucks on the 2 heaver sets

a guy at my gym made a bracket to put the bar in instead of the corner, it allows you to put it somewhere besides a corner and also holds back end of the bar down

we got those invanko rubber dumbells at out world's gym. i swear the 120"s (high as they go) look like 200's. i cant shoulder press them because they are so long your head cant fit between them, flat press's are out of the question also as the touch before you even get them off your chest. what a worthless waste of money and invanko stuff is very expensive.

Nothing like a little weight looking real heavy!!;)
My gym has bells up to 170. Given the amount those are used, I'd guess the owner see's no sense in purchasing anything higher.

Can you explain how to do that please, I have an idea..but.
Thanks

place a straight bar on the floor with one end in a corner, put the plates on the other end. you can throw a plate on the end of the bar on the corner or have someone stand on it to stabilize the bar.

load the plates up on the other end, straddle the bar, grab the end ( you can put a v-bar row hand on the bar to make it easier to grip. stand up row away. someone post a pic, will explain it better

Heh, my place only goes to 135.

But that's OK, I enjoy doing slow-motion training, it is gentler on the joints and the risk of injury is about nil.

most gyms dont cater to the hardcore bodybuilder just general people working out. you may need to look for different gym.

200 lbs

I think our gym goes up to 115 or 120 on the dumbbells.(?) the new db's anyway. the old rusty set went to 140 also.
