Thanks guys. It was a fun day of filming. Beyond the training we filmed some cooking, going to Costco, and just a day in the life kind of thing. I am doing another In the Trenches for MD the Sunday after the USA's and a few off season videos closer to the Olympia.
He is injured.....he has a bicep/forearm tendon that is giving him huge trouble and it really hurts him on the inclines down the bottom for some reason (along with the aforementioned shoulder prob).....I just about fainted when i saw him doing these 405's for the "In the trenches video"....I dont want him tearing anything.....he is just trying to get thru these last couple weeks here
In May, I saw Dusty full rep 4 plates a side on a non counterweighted Smythe machine where the bar weighs 75 pounds instead of 45 for 13-14 reps rest paused.....he got 9 to failure then 15 deep breathes and 3 to failure then 15 deep breathes and then 1-2 to failure.
So roughly a 435 smythe incline for 9 reps on his first (mini set).....he has ridiculous power
Yeah, AWN and I have been training together for this prep. He has been an awesome partner and is actually seven days out from the Az State show looking MUCH better than ever before. I am looking forward to our offseason training together.
I swear the icy hot git me through this prep. I have had tendon issues for the past 10 weeks or so and it has been amazing. AWN actually got it for me and told me to use it before we train. Nice to have people who are much smarter than you around to save your ass.
Thanks. I am not able to ever go below about 3 inches above my chest on any BB pressing due to a shoulder surgery I had when I was 18. Any lower and I risk a dislocation and guarantee excruciating pain in the joint the next day.
Thanks Tenny. As far as the five fingers you will be sooo glad you bought them. They are the ugliest things I have ever seen but I will never train in anything else after using them. Took a few days to get used to my toes being separated but now I love them. AWESOME for legs and back.
