I've never been to a national comp but I'm sure this was on par with one - from what I heard of the Junior USA, this far exceeded competitor attendance. There were classes with upwards of 30-40 guys and most were VERY good shape.

The most they would callout was 6, generally was 5. With women it was easy to pick first, but not always so with men.

I only went to prejudging so I don't know who did what - maybe someone else who was there will post. It's like a 4-hour drive so just watching PJ was a 13-hour day.

Steak said he wouldn't be there due to a BAD back and Ivan had a game. I was trying and meet up with JonnyO but I think he may have only been going to the evening show. He had me meeting him at the BUSIEST booth there - the one Jay Cutler hung at all day!

I hung out most of the day with ken69dahl and his lovely gal sgfitness.

I spoke with this BEAUTIFUL fitness gal that was working the Labrada booth for a looong time. She did a show one week ago and was in FINE shape She said I didn't look older than 40 tops - made my day Now ken was also being nice. Last year when we met there I was 4 weeks out from a contest. This time he says I look thick (just a nice way of saying FAT SOB - LOL).

I wanted to go out....just have to much going on to justify the expense. I am building a big barn shaped lifting fortress this summer...met with two contractors today.

Competitors: Excel, how was the superheavy class? Were any lean?

The guy who one last year was there - the one I thought you could beat hands down. He's tall, like 6'2" or taller but you have way more muscle and are proportioned better.

There was this BIG black guy that simply dwarfed him and SHREDDED to boot - had these snakes about the size of my lil pinky running up and down his legs It'll be interesting to see who gets the overall this year. There were a ton of REALLY good lt heavy and heavies this year.

Damn. It is too bad that your buddy wasn't tighter. I think his shape would have taken the other guy without much problem but he wasn't tight enough.

Xcel I was only at the evening show so too bad I missed ya!

The heavies and super heavies were disapointing I thought. The heavyweight winner looked good, if he knew how to pose better he could have shown his physique alot better. And that boy has NO rythym, LOL.

The supers looked like shit, the winner had nice shape but was too soft. Maybe he looked better in the am, either way he would have taken first regardless.

The overall winner and light heavy looked alot better than he does in the pictures shown here. He def deserved the win. He had nice symmetry and shape.

funny you say that about the SHW I am will be doing my first show in under 2 weeks (THANK GOD) and I to will be a SHW but at my hight 6' I should come in somewere around 230 witch is kinda thin if you ask me but seeing as I agree 9 out or 10 local shows you see the supers are allways out of shape BIG but smooth.

So I am hoping comming in shape will help with my hight

The lightheavy definitely looks the goods. How's the legs on him, and although it's hard to see, looks like he's got eye-popping calves. Well put together and tight package - he would've been very hard to beat. IronMike
