FACTOR 5

I was diagnosed with Factor Five disorder a few weeks ago, After having a pulmonary embolism. I have to take anticoagulant blood thinners to help prevent future problems.My question is can I use AAS while on blood the anticoagulant blood thinner coumadin, and apixaban?

Yeah, both of us are on coumadin (warfarin). Emeric has factor 5 just like you and I have prothrombin mutation. Emeric had an embolism just like you and I had a heart attack. Im not quite sure what factor 5 is since I dont have it. When you have a clotting disorder though, that last thing you want to be doing is taking large doses of steroids. Women with prothrombin are told not to tak birth control because of the dangers of clots. It almost killed me.

Emeric can help you more than I can though since he has the same disorder as you.

Me personally, I just take HRT now. True HRT dose of 120 mg/wk, and my new doc wants to bring it down to 100. I would never consider taking steroids again like I was, especially since my heart is now 1/2 dead.
