Fat or Muscle

I remember reading somewhere that muscle is heavier then fat, does anyone know off chance if this is true and can reference any article or book about it.

yes, muscle is much denser than fat, so a pound of muscle takes up less space then a pound of fat...i can't remember what the ratio is exactly
