FEET POSITION ON HACK SQUATS?

when trying to keep the stress off the knees: is it better to keep my feet closer to rear of the platform or closer to the front of the platform when doing hack squats?
 
Towards the top of platform. You do not want your kness coming over the toes. Keep knees pointed same directions as feet. Do not allow heels to raise off of platform, pushing with both heel and forefoot.

try them facing towards the machine with your front delts under the pads. it'll take a few tries to get the right feel for it but once you do you will love it. i saw this on a dennis james dvd...i believe charles glass had him doing them this way (as well as flex wheeler on flex's dvd)
 
interesting flexmaster, thanks for the idea. did dennis look comfortable in this position or awkward? have you tried it this way and what did you think? can your legs handle more weight doing it the way you suggested?
 
it's GREAT! use less weight to do it correctly. this is my favorite way to do hacks...
 
hacks..

took me a while to get used to the damn things...
i find putting my feet towards top... toes hanging off a bit from the platform.... feels best to me

definately start with light weight till you get comfortable with what works the best for you
 
The feet high on the platform stance is better if you have, or are worried about, knee problems. The hams/glutes become more involved.
But if you want to hit the Vastus Medius (teardrop) put the feet back lower, closer, toes out a bit. If you can without danger or strain on the knee joint.
