Filter needles

I normally draw up my gear from the vial with an 18 gauge blunt tip needle. I than switch this needle out with a 25 gauge needle for injection.

I recently saw some 18 gauge blunt tip needles with a filter inside the needle. Would these needles be better to use to draw up my gear (for sterility purposes).

My gear is bought from underground labs and there are some "floaters" in the solution from time to time. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about something like a Whatman .45 micron filter?? These would help remove the floaters or particles you mention.

Shouldn't be any Floaters,.....!!

Run the whole mess through a Whatman at one time.

there intended purpose it to be used when drawing from glass ampules. Its purpose it to makes sure that the glass shards are not drawn up., than the needle is change out to a regular one to inject. I'm sure it could work for some floaters, but if you got floaters in there you may want to question the gear.

the blunt tip fliter needles do not in anyway filter out contaminates or bacteria.

Sterile, no. Sterilization comes from the BA not the filter. The filter just filters particles. When I used a 21g to draw it would sometimes leave floaters from the large needle

Filter needles are for drawing out of glass amps.

The 18 G needle can cause floaters by breaking off pieces of the rubber. Make sure to rotate around the rubber stopper with the 18g hitting a new spot each time. If the floaters are in there before hand I would find a new ugl. Jmho.

BA doesn't sterilize anything, it just makes it harder for bacteria to grow, but it can still grow in there fine with time.

doesnt matter if its blunt or not, 18G is too big to draw and WILL punch holes into the rubber.

use 20-23s to draw and you wont have any issues.
id rather spend 3 seconds more drawing than injecting pieces of rubber into my ass

if your gear had floaters to begin with then run it through a filter (.45 or .22 whatman) and into a different sterile vial
