Frozen IGF

i have 2 ques..
My igf (1ml/1000mcgs) from MR is reconstituted (18 hours prior to lyophilized state to prevent degeneration of the IGF..sent rush delivery)...and i left it in the freezer for like 3 days and now its completely frozen..is that normal?

secondly, is it just me but when i transferred the igf from the freezer to the fridge to let it thaw out a little i noticed the liquid in the vial/ampoule only makes up 1/4 of the whole vial or perhaps even a little less ..is that really 1000mcgs..i thought there would be more ..?

Thats what you get for trying to get some 'bargin' brand of IGF1.
Do you realize how much the stuff has been degraded through the trauma
of shipping? And nice of you to believe that it was reconstituted 18hrs before
it was sent (was it cold during the entire shipping process?), not to mention shipping time. Seeing how it is already reconstituted, you again have to trust that the correct amount of IGF1 was used with the dillutent.
You get what you pay for. No personal offense meant.

when dealing with IGF more can go wrong then right....buy the powder next timre to be sure what you are getting..i hope it is all right but...i doubt it sounds like too much was handled the wrong way too many times....good luck

Wow mike you should ask more questions before you come up with rash conclusions...and again no offense meant....i took care of the shipping personally and I had a TA reconstitute the IGF while being supervised by the department chair (post 18 hours)and since this was a student project sanctioned by the university i did not pay anything ...MR supplied the lyophilized IGF which was tested as legitimate Long R3IGF-I.. and since I am a first year MSE student at the Uni's ChemE/MatE/ProE school of chemical engineering..i am not privi to biological reconstitution...so i was wondering the hows and the whats of individual's experiences on this board (and others) ..so again...once reconstituted..do you get the feeling that 1000mcgs ..100ius..1ml...seems less than it should be?? .. by no means is this a passive aggresive attempt to get a reaction from a hidden inuendo ..sorry mike

thanks BBB ..i'm just curious ..its seems less than a ml and the components that comprise IGF besides the Bac water do not seem prone to freezing so quickly especially right after reconstitution

Im not sure why you would freeze it?
Doesnt seem like that could do it any good. I would just treat it like hgh
But I wouldnt buy Frozen hgh

I prefer the lyoholized powder also..in the 100mcg vials Vs the entire 1ml in one vial.

I am thinking that he can do this since it is University funded and controlled by the university. they can get away with some crazy things at the Universities.

I personally would not want it frozen...IGF-r3 and GH are pretty sensitive(like a woman on PMS). I think the sudden decrease in temp then the thawing can cause some degeneration of the product.

As far as the vial being 1/4 full...well one would have to look at and see.

steak- you were right ...another professor in our lab mentioned it would be better to keep it around 18 deg C to 22 deg C..lyophilized
