It depends upon your doses and diet. I use GDA's with slin but not really when the slin is active. GDA's can be very strong so you have to be careful with the added sensitivity. Using lantus means it's obviously always going to be active. However due to the way lantus works on the body I don't see an issue as long as you eat accordingly. You could add GDA's to your largest carb meals,. Although if using lantus I would personally just use more lantus and save the GDA's for when you have breaks.
How often are you checking your fasting glucose? Is that how you’re getting your lantus dosage?
Really should be using the fast acting insulin, I always use alongside Metformin for insulin sensetivity

GDA with insulin is wasting money.
Cinder, you always seem to have 10x things running through your head at once. DHB, GH, Insulin, GDAs,...hire a coach bro. You need structure.
I'm currently using Lantus in conjunction with Humalog pre and post workout, and I'll add in GDA's with those carb meals peri-workout.
Lantus has a 24 hour half-life, but I believe it tends to tail off around 12-14 hours so I actually split my dose in two.
~6:00AM Upon waking: 15 iu Lantus
4:00pm: Pre-workout meal and 6 iu Humalog, and GDA
8:30PM: Post-workout meal and 6 iu Humalog, and GDA.
Pre-bed: 15 iu Lantus
For what it's worth I only started using Lantus several weeks ago during my post show rebound phase.
Total carbs are ~460 with most of them consumed pre, intra, and post. My last offseason my carbs got up to around ~600 at it's highest. I'm hoping to maintain better BG this growth phase to extend my offseason and optimize my growth.
Cinder,
Could you post your diet (with meal times) while using Lantus? Giving details about what you eat pre/post workout and cardio.
Thanks
There is absolutely no purpose for lantus on that little amount of food.
My wife legitimately eats more than that..
What brand GDA's do ya'll prefer. Seriously thinking about buying some.
When using slin (more specifically lantus) is gda needed.
I don't know much about this stuff. Also, how risky isn't use with insulin or even igf
Thanks for posting up your diet!
Now back to your original question-
Using Mike Arnold's web-site, he defines GDA as- Sensitizers, Mimetics, and Secretagogues.
Where Mimetics and Secretagogues copy the effects of insulin or increase the production of insulin.
Just my opinion (and i live solely in the world of bro-science) that if you are using lantus that Mimetics and Secretagogues are over-kill and most likely a waste of money.
However, sensitizers are a different matter. I personally use Metformin and ceylon cinnamon when I use lantus or other insulins.
