I notice i run the risk of getting sick if i train real hard the day of or even the next day. Everyone is different though. Also you aren't supposed to lift anything heavy for a specified amount of time for fear of reopening the wound. Its never happened to me, but its always a possibility.
They recommend not train on the day of donation. This is because you have a nice little hole in your vein and just take it easy for a bit. You don't want to spring a leak on the bench press. Next day, no sweat. I have done it many times.
I'm O- so the Red Cross hounds me and calls to let me know I can donate as soon as I'm ready , thats about every 6 weeks I think , maybe 8. I donate right beofre I start a cycle and about 3-4 weeks after.
I've been told that donating while on is no problem I just don't see that being very resonasible giving blood thats "tainted" with drugs.
I don't lift for 12-16hrs after I give , generaly about 24hrs cause I donate in the evening and I'll skip trainging that day and catch it the next evening
I trained biceps after my doctor took out TWO pints, training was about 4 hours after. I got light headed a few times but it wasn't too bad, I felt more tired than normal.
Will it lower the levels for an extended period of time when you take a full blood draw/donation? For example, say you have a 54 hematocrit, will giving donating blood take that level down to 50?

Cant put an exact # on it, but generally YES, giving blood will lower your hematocrit. Sometimes you may wanna go to 2 banks and donate every month till you get your hematocrit where you want it and then usually donating every 2months will keep it there.
