I've always used just plain L-glutamine powder the past few years. Usually take 5grams post workout and 5 before bed. Recently a guy in a nutrition store told me standard glutamin is worthless, even if taken sugar. He said I must use a glutamine peptide. Think this is true?

I took the glutamine peptide foe a few months and didnt notice anything spectacular, especially for the cost! (got mine for free but still) also it isnt very water soluble it is very hard to mix! glutimine is good stuff but is a little overrated imo. I still use it pre and post workout for the hell of it.

sales must be slow at the supp shop for the dude to make a statement like that...

Thanks bro. Im gonna stick with pure L-gluatamin powder. Im sure it works fine.

Gluatmine makes up more of muscle tissue that any other amino. Love the stuff. Worth every penny(cent) IMO.

Coming from a power lifter background these are the first few years of me dieting. Not that I was ever really fat, just pleasantly plump :D My question to you guys is, does Glutamine and Creatine make you hold too much water weight when dieting? Hopefully I can get some answers without having to start another thread. I have always liked the fullness I held taking Creatine post workout, but I just wanted to know how to outweigh it. Can anyone help?

water retention from creatine is inside the muscle, a good thing whether dieting or not, you want that fullness to your muscle. your thinking sub-q water rentention which blurs definition

Thank you very much Edge. How about Glutamine?

Thanks Edge.

Going off what edge, bapper, and some others have said I usually take in 5 grams of Bcaa's and 5 grams of glutamine preworkout and postworkout in my PWO carb drink...I never heard of creatine creating water retention either...

I've heard about creatine causing water retention but I have never personally noticed it on myself. I usually cut out the creatine while dieting but this time I am still taking it, and so far so good. Never heard about glutamine causing you to hold water.

Glutamine will help you carb up. Retain and help the uptake of carbs in the muscle. Creatine will make you hold sc water, however there is a new buffered creatine that will not make you hold water. I have not tried it yet so can only say what I heard or read.

Phil's LBA's. All you need pre-post workout. Loaded with Glutamic acid from Beef plasma. Gets in and goes to work right away. Great recovery after workout.

SyntheL-Glutamine one of the best L-glutamine on the market. It is well micronised wich helps for a better absorbtion.
