Yes.. Unfortunately the terms are misleading and easily manipulated.. That is why you have to know your source or brand and there farming practices.. The ideal situation would be this.. Chickens are kept in a mobile indoor pen (cage free) overnight so they can sleep without worry of being eaten by predators.. Early AM they are released from pen onto a grassy field where they may roam freely within a sectioned area (once again to avoid predators) and eat bugs and worms and whatever nature has for them. Then they are loaded back into pen at night and transported to another section of the grassland field. It's called sustainable farming.. This ensures a high quality nutritionally superior egg with a bright orange yolk.. Find a local farm and inquire about their farming practices. If they are reputable, they will allow you to visit the farm.
