This shit is weird. I have been clinging to that brace like a baby to a blanket. I am almost scared without it. I had a long talk with the doc. I brought up the point that once the tendon is healed then it is healed, just like a cut. One the scar tissue comes together then its done, and he said right. So pretty much it is all healed up. I asked him when most people start back on the weight, and he said around 4-5 months, but then said it is really up to the person. The only reason they want people to wait that long is because most people don't do rehab and if they do they do it half ass. So he told me it is up to me. He wants me to take 2 weeks to stretch the arm back out (damn it is stiff) and then start to strengthen it up, then I am good to go. It should not bee that weak beacause it has only been motionless for 4 weeks.

Great man

Glad to hear things are getting better,,, give it time bro ,,DO NOT RUSH THIS or it may come back to haunt you later.

thanks, and yes this is a once in a lift time thing for me.

Also, I hit you back on that pm.

Im curious about this Weight77---compared to your good arm how does the range of motion differ? Does it feel tight in your bicep too or just in your pec major? Can you put your arm overhead in what would be a dumbell press or is it basically your elbow traveling backward that is tight?

Sounds like you didn't lose too much range of motion!

I had to keep my shoulder immobile for about 6 weeks. When it came out of the sling, it was about 2 months of PT and using the pulley-and-rope for assisted exercises (to get range of motion back) 2x ED.

Keep us posted and as stated - don't overdo it.

No, I m not moving my arm over head yet. The doc had me lay back yesterday and he pulled my arm all the way to the side of my body and it was not stiff at all. The hard thing is taking my hand and rotating it out to the side, that is very stiff. Yesterday was the first day in 4 weeks that I have been able to take my right hand and put it on my right knee. That took me about 45 minutes to do because I had to work the stiffness out.

Not sure what surgery you had

but, i would recommend getting some deep tissue work to the surgical area to help align and break up the scar tissue.. not too drastic at first.. but, it should help you regain full range of motion and strength in minimal time.

as you know.. scar tissue does not have the same elasticity that muscle tissue does.. so..when you got to lift.. you can be more prone to reinjure the area.. and the more stresses put on that area.. the more scar tissue that will continue to form..
