Since a few of you own gyms on here, where is the best place to purchase gym equipment at decent prices. Bought a new house and finally have a huge sub basement to put in a gym.
i can say where NOT to go - G&G Fitness. they suck. i bought a standard olympic bar from there last summer and i just broke one of the end-caps deadlifting 545 yesterday. come on guys deadlift WAY more than that and the bar should not be breaking. so i called them today to get a price on a 'power bar', rated at 1500 lbs. they said $149 over the phone. drove the 25 miles to the place and they tried to charge me $249 in person. they said no one called - PLEASE there is only one G&G Fitness within 100 miles of where i live
Try Craigslist, I've purchased a number of commercial pieces for my home gym off of craigslist. The last piece was a used Bodymaster's Seated Calf machine that I paid $60 for. The paint is chipped in a couple of places, other than that it is in excellent condition.

I made a trip today. What they were selling was not quite what I was looking for. They did have a King overhead tricep extension though. I haven't seen any of that brand in years.

A Gold's up in Rhode Island is clearing out. That stuff looks good.
