Gyms in South Florida?

One of my good friends just moved to South Florida and is looking for a good gym to workout at. He is currently staying with his cousin in Hallandale but is looking to find a place of his own between Ft. Lauderdale and W. Palm in the very near future. He hasn't competed since the Orange County Classic in 2005 but is looking to get back into things once he gets his life settled. I know we have a pretty good group of people from the South Florida area here so I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on a good hardcore gym.

By the way, he also needs a job in case anybody has any suggestions.

Without a doubt GOLDS on Commercial Blvd in Fort Lauderdale just 1/2 mile west of Route 1.

Well...if he doesn't need too hardcore he can try LA Fitness....there are alot around and if he gets a membership he can go to any of them. This way he can work out at the one near Hallandale and when he moves he can go to the one closer to that area.

MuscleWorks gym in Bradenton, right next to Sarasota. The handsdown most hardcore PL and BB gym I've even been to. I used to run it a few years ago. Yellow walls, 2500lb leg press, monolift, 200lb dumbells and tons of dirt/dust/blood/chalk all over the floor and some LOUD ass metal blasting over the many huge speakers throughout the gym. It's truley a work of art. Plus membership is like $15 bucks a month! DO IT!!!
