Health Insurance

yep....through my parents lol

covered head to toe with health insurance only problem is insuarance does not pay squat in 3rd world countries like mine lol...alex

I have probably one of the best benefits packages in existance. Working for State government has that as it's one and only perc. I would make 33% more working in the private sector , but my health and retirement package more than makes up for the difference in pay.

Luckily I have it through my job.
My knee repair surgery cost $30,000 alone in medications alone only $2500 for the 3 days in the hosp, $12,000 for the surgery itself another $5-6 K for all the other associated fees. etc.
I can't imagine not having insurance.
A freind of mine who isn't a bb'er got a blood clot in his leg (he had an accident when young which partially disabled his leg and hip and he walks with a limp) -runs and owns his own business no insurance which suprised me-4 days in ICU and $200,000 later...wow it can add up.
I know a lady that had a brain aneuryism flown to Hopkins critical care in for 2 weeks-she miracously survived and is in perfect health-2.5 million $$ was the bill.
she told me she negotiated a settlement and paid it by selling a house.

If anyone remembers Mike Mattarazo his open heart surgery ran him several hundred thousand close to a million and he had no health insurance.

Of course!

You have to have it, You never know what may happen. It's kinda like competing, If you don't make it where you want you need to have something to fall back on. Alot of people don't realize there is life after bodybuilding.

well, I am lucky because I am self-employed and my wife works at a BIG hospital with awesome health insurance at a good premium so I am on hers. Otherwise, because I work for myself, I would be paying out my ass for medicore coverage

Yep..... but iv paid more into it in the last 2yrs than iv used it for haha. I guess i should get sick or something to get my moneys worth huh? lol JK! knock on wood!

God I've got to get this caught up. Missed a payment and they canceled my policy until i pay it again. I'm the type of guy that NEEDS health insurance!

I'm lucky I have a State Job and pay 12$ a month for insurance. Before that my mother is a federal employee so I have always had good insurance. I have many friends without insurance though and its tuff on them.

I am self employed but am covered under my wife's policy, she works for a big Pharm company. For those of you that don't have it and think you can't affford it, you can. Try blue cross blue sheild, they offer a program called tonik, I used them before my wife got her job. I think it ran me $80 a month.

Nope, I am a consultant(engineer) for the boitech/pharma industry. Strait 1099, being that I never get sick I dropped it last year and then 1 1/2 mths ago I get sick and have medical bills out the ass. Go figure.

I try to keep insurance, but when the money is low and the bills need paying.... the health insurance is the first expense that I drop. So currently I don't have insurance.

Sounds like I need a good wife with good insurance so I can get on her policy! Is that something like a "sugar-momma-light"?

Yep....its the best 97 dollars a month I can spend. I pay for it out of pocket and I know for a fact its possible to get kick ass coverage thats affordable. I don't even miss the money every month. I also get 24 visits to a chiropractor a year as well as a bunch of other stuff and its all covered.

Nope. Self employed and can't afford it at this time. Very expensive.
Problem is I need it for a bad shoulder and a large lump on my back
that needs to be looked at. I'm all banged up.

Yep, have to be now a days, never know what may happen......

nope.....

cant afford it anymore...

they kept raising my premiums every month eventhough I never used it...

Bills take priority I guess :(
