I will start by saying I am relatively new to bodybuilding. I have trained on a off for a few year's but never really stuck to anything and have now decided to start bodybuilding at the age of 27 y/o. My stat's are -

27 Y/O
191 cm
217 lbs
Bodyfat %

I have decided to follow Big A's beginners guide to training. I am however a little unsure about the diet aspect. I understand that Big A suggest's aiming for 500g of protein daily. The carb's and fat, I am a little unsure of however. The 300g of carb's I would assume would be broken down and consumed before evening so that they can be burned off and not stored as fat through out the night when asleep. Is there usually a set time that you should not consume carb's after ? My training will be done in the morning. Also,how much EFA's should be consumed daily ? Is there a certain amount per lb of bodyweight ? Thanks guys.

Wow, you are a tall guy. To answer your questions depends on your goals. By the way, Welcome to the Board.
 
My goal is to begin bodybuilding as a sport building as much muscle mass as possible along the way naturally and then participate in a few year's down the line in local bodybuilding meeting's. Thank's for the reply.
 
Then my suggestion is to have someone educate you on Nutrition. This board is full of them, who charge low fees. You can make good gains even as a natural, when starting out.

The main difference is they are cookie cutter diets and not tailored to you. Not all diets will react the same way per idividual. Also, when someone is working with you, they will adjust according to your needs and lifestyle. In other words you will make gains probally quicker, then trying to learn on your own.

diet is an important piece of the puzzle, but nothing takes the place of moving weight with proper form. Looking at your pics it appears you need to get in the gym and start to bust your ass a bit as it does not look like you have done that in a while.....
