I'm currently going through my... "get the F' back in shape phase". My weight has gone from 321 to 295 over the past 1.5-2 months. In the process I have been able to get my muscles to grow and look fuller. I am very careful to try to make sure and retain as much muscle as possible.
I currently play Hockey, as I have been doing for many years (15yrs I think). I have 2 games a week for the most part. Sometimes I have 1, and sometimes I could have 4, but 2 is the average. Please note these are organized adult leagues, and I am not a pro by any means.
I am doing whatever I have to do to protect against muscle loss during my weight loss.
What recommendations on food, drink, supps do you have to help retain as much muscle during these strenuous workouts? Before, during, after???
Even during my caloric and carb deficiency, I still have plenty of energy to play. I just want to keep my muscle in and let the fat out.
I am about 40lbs away from my goal...
